Two bowls plus a drainboard, in one continuous run
This is the largest standard configuration we build and the one that needs the most care at the specification stage. Two bowls, a divider, and a 300–500 mm drainboard all sit in one sheet, which pushes overall length to 1000–1400 mm. Get the cabinet run wrong and there is no recovering it.
Where it earns its place: family kitchens doing high dish volume, and rental or serviced apartments where one person washes while another dries. Where it does not: small kitchens, where a single bowl with a board gives a more useful bowl for the same footprint.
What to specify before ordering
- Overall length — 1000–1400 mm. Above 1200 mm confirm crate dimensions against your container loading plan.
- Bowl split — 50/50 or 60/40, applied across the two bowls, with the board separate.
- Hand — left or right board. Marked on the drawing, confirmed in writing.
- Waste layout — two wastes with a shared trap arm, or two independent traps. In a 600 mm cabinet, two independent traps often will not fit.
- Board length — 300–500 mm, plain or fluted, with rolled front edge.

The plumbing question nobody asks early enough
Two bowls plus a drainboard in a 600 mm cabinet puts both wastes close together, directly above the trap. Ask your installer for the trap layout before the order is placed, not after the worktop is cut. Where space is tight, a single waste with an overflow link is the practical answer, at the cost of slightly slower drainage when both bowls are full.
Frequently asked questions
What is the maximum length you build?
1400 mm as a single formed unit. Anything longer is built as a two-piece and joined on site, which we do not recommend for a domestic kitchen.
Do I need two traps?
Often not. In a 600 mm cabinet two independent traps usually collide. Most installations use a single trap with a Y-branch or an overflow link between bowls.
Is this configuration available undermount?
Yes, but the drainboard must be supported along its full length. With a stone worktop that means a continuous substrate, not just corner brackets.
How heavy is a 1200 mm unit?
Roughly 16–19 kg net in 18 gauge, 20–23 kg in 16 gauge. Plan two people for the install.
